An adaptation cycle of days, not years

Countermeasures that cost a month in early 2023 sometimes now appear within 2–3 days.

Three technical adaptations illustrate the acceleration:

CRPA antennas combine signals from multiple directions to suppress GPS jamming.
Fibre-optic guidance replaces the radio signal with a physical cable — there is simply nothing to jam.
AI target recognition (ATR) lets a munition track a target independently without GPS or datalink, making it immune to both countermeasures above.

Key point

The cycle of new tactic → countermeasure → counter-countermeasure is now measured in days to weeks in this domain. This has direct consequences for how quickly counter-UAS means must be adaptable — see Chapter 6.2.
